Stay of Litigation with SCUSD 


The Sacramento City Unified School District (District) and Black Parallel School Board suing the District for discrimination against students based on race and disability asked the federal court to pause litigation so the parties may seek potential resolution through settlement.

A Plan for increasing the opportunity for African American Students

The Black Parallel School Board invited over 31 African American Community Based Organizations and other educational and professional organizations (Sacramento) to attend a meeting to set priorities for African American Students attending schools in SCUSD. Over 25 of these representatives attended and developed goals, objectives, and activities. The Plan will be presented to staff and board members for inclusion in their Local Control Accountability Plan.

The Black Parallel School Board (BPSB) is a community organization developed to work parallel to the Sacramento City Unified District Board of Education. Its major responsibility is to support the educational growth and achievement of Black students.
